We can’t see the air, but we believe in it. God has given us nature as a great professor.

We may not believe in an invisible enemy, but he believes in us…

Stepping out of the front door to listen to the dawn chorus, I was jolted by a red-tailed hawk being chased by an angry and protective wren in front of my very eyes. Presumably, the hawk was looking for breakfast and the tiny underdog replied, “Not on my watch.”

If I had been inside for a minute later, I would have missed this do-or-die drama. Who knows how many millions of times per day the chased are in a fight-or-flight mode? One must either escape, fight back or be eaten.

In the spiritual realm, we don’t necessarily see a physical enemy. (Please, no mother-in-law jokes.) But all around us on every single day, there is a battle over any number of targets.

You are one of those…believe it or not.

PORTAL TO HEAVEN: We can’t see the air, but we believe in it. God has given us nature as a great professor.

Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour…I saw among the simple, I noticed among the young men, a youth who had no sense. With persuasive words she led him astray; she seduced him with her smooth talk. All at once he followed her like an ox going to the slaughter, like a deer stepping into a noose till an arrow pierces his liver, like a bird darting into a snare, little knowing it will cost him his life…Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.
