I held out the Skittle package barely beyond the 10 year-old reach. When she’d go to grab it, I’d lift it within a millimeter of her outstretched fingers.
After innumerable tries and more than a bit of frustration on her part, I finally let her grab it victoriously.
Why would God hold out heaven as a promise of beauty, bliss and fulfillment and then never let us immerse ourselves in it?
What’s our version of heaven like? Is it meticulous gardens, an eternal World Series, that great opera or concert, exotic waterfalls, or effortless space travel?

Skittles are for kids.
But here is a God that holds out that which we can grab while maintaining something just out of reach.
PORTAL TO HEAVEN: What you have beheld…more is to come.
