Be Careful Little Ears What You Hear…and What You Don’t.

Headphones consume your consciousness. What’s being listened to has a monopoly on the direction of your thinking.

Perhaps that’s the reason the word “ear” is tucked into the word “heart.”

Have you ever sat down for a meal in a restaurant that’s playing music overhead that has filthy lyrics or is distressing to your taste whether it be milk toast stuff or jazz that’s crazy or rock that’s blasting. It’s enough to make you want to stiff the waitress!

“The Blessing” is a song from “the very heart of The Father” according to its introduction. As the band takes you on a journey into Aaronic Blessing of Numbers 6, you quickly find out this is not a cheesy wall plaque rendition of “The Lord bless you and keep you, make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you.”

There’s a repetitive part where the group pounds out, “He is for you.” If we could make the band disappear and it was simply Jesus singing that line over you, would that blessing be all the more real?

The ears are one of the major inlets into our hearts.

Be careful little ears what you hear…and what you don’t.

PORTAL TO HEAVEN: The gift of hearing is a choice that acts as a compass.

Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it…He who made the ear, does He not hear?…Ears that hear and eyes that see--the LORD has made them both…He looked up to heaven and with a deep sigh said to him, “Ephphatha!” (which means “Be opened!”). At this, the man’s ears were opened, his tongue was loosened and he began to speak plainly.
